Data protection

1. Introduction

Data protection is of great importance to ITConcepts. With these data protection guidelines, we want to inform you as to how we process your data, which we receive from you in conjunction with your use of our homepage or our services. If you visit our homepage or avail of our services, we record and process data that is gathered during your visit.

Based on Article 13 of the Swiss Federal Constitution and Swiss data protection legislation (Datenschutzgesetz, DSG) everyone has the right to protection of privacy, as well as to protection against the misuse of their personal information. We adhere to these provisions. Personal information is treated as strictly confidential and is neither sold nor passed on to third parties.
Working in close collaboration with our hosting providers, we endeavour to protect our databases as effectively as possible against unauthorised access, losses, misuse and falsification.

1.1. Disclaimer

The author assumes no responsibility with regard to the correctness, accuracy, up-to-dateness, reliability and completeness of the information.
Liability claims brought against the author on account of damages, whether material or immaterial, which have come about as a result of the accessing or the use/non-use of the published information, as a result of the misuse of the connection or as a result of technical faults, are excluded.
All offers are non-binding. The author expressly reserves the right to change, add to, delete or temporarily or permanently cease publication of parts of the pages or the entire website, without separate notification.

2. Validity

Please carefully read through the data protection provisions. By accessing the ITConcepts website (itconcepts.ch; hereinafter the “website”) and using our services, you declare that you have understood the following provisions regarding access to itconcepts.ch in conjunction with the website and that you agree to these provisions. If you do not agree to the following provisions, cease all further use of the website.
For the use of special services (competitions, newsletter etc.), potential special provisions also apply. In the event of an inconsistency between these provisions and a special provision, the respective special provision shall take precedence.

3. Which information do we record and for what purposes?

3.1. Visiting our website

When you visit our website, your user-specific (e.g. IP address, web browser, operating system) and technical data (e.g. URLs of the accessed pages, execution of search queries) is collected in anonymous form and analysed.
To do so, we use cookies. A cookie is a text file that is sent to your browser from the web server and is stored on your computer’s hard drive.
You can prevent the recording of the data generated by a cookie, relating to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of this data, in particular by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the link below:

By using our website you consent to the collection and use of the data in accordance with these data protection provisions.

3.2. Data storage and use

Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. On the website, we have extended Google Analytics by adding the “anonymizeIP” code. This guarantees the masking of your IP address, so that all data is forwarded to Google anonymously. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server and truncated there. Google will use this information in anonymised form in order to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports regarding the website activities for the website operator and to provide further services associated with the use of the website and of the Internet. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be combined with any other Google data.
You can prevent the installation of cookies using a corresponding setting in your browser software; however, we would point out that if you do so, you might not be able to make full use of all the functions on this website. By using this website you declare your consent to the processing of the collected data relating to you by Google, in the manner set out above and for the purpose set out above. Information can be found in the Google Analytics Privacy Policy.

Web analysis tool
The web pages of www.itconcepts.ch use an appropriate web analysis tool for the analysis of user behaviour and for the identification of the IP address for marketing purposes. The use of these services requires that data regarding the user’s behaviour (e.g. IP address, time of access, user behaviour, browser request etc.) be transmitted directly to the analysis server and made available for exclusive use for www.itconcepts.ch. The collected data will be treated with strict confidentiality and will be neither sold nor forwarded to third parties. If you no longer wish to be identified in future, please send an email to optout@permagroup.ch.

Contact form
When you send the data entered in the contact form by clicking on the Send button, you declare your consent to our using your information in order to respond to your query or contact request. The information will not be forwarded to third parties, unless valid data protection provisions justify its transmission or we are legally obliged to forward it. You can withdraw your granted consent at any time with future effect. In the event of a withdrawal of consent, your information will be deleted immediately. Otherwise your data will be deleted once we have processed your query or once the purpose for its storage no longer applies. You can access information regarding your stored personal data at any time.
Retargeting and social networks
The majority of the cookies we use are automatically deleted again after your visit. Other cookies are stored for a longer period of time on your end device and are used, for example, for personalisation or retargeting. You can, however, delete these cookies at any time.
If you visit the ITConcepts website, the cookie can be used to establish a connection between your browser and the corresponding provider’s server. It is thus possible that your visit to this website might, for example, be assigned to a user account on the corresponding social network. ITConcepts does not have any knowledge of this data or its use. Further information on this can be found in the social networks’ corresponding data protection declarations.

Hubspot
Hubspot, a service provided by the American company Hubspot Inc. (hereinafter “Hubspot”), is used on itconcepts.ch for analysis and communications purposes. Hubspot uses web beacons and cookies, which help us to analyse your use of our website. This means, for example, that when contacting us or registering for an event, your activities on this website are assigned to your cookie. This enables an in-depth analysis of your website use (e.g. visited pages, completed forms, downloads). In addition, with some forms we also automatically send requested digital resources (e.g. eBooks) to you by email. This allows us to better tailor the user experience on the website, as well as our external communication, to suit the requirements of our visitors.
You can adjust the use of cookies in your browser settings at any time (see 3.1).
Comprehensive information can be found in the Hubspot Privacy Policy.

Log files
These log files store information, such as:
• IP addresses
• Date and time
• Protocol information such as the protocol type, version, the desired action, status codes or details regarding the transferred data (e.g. the size of a question or a response)
• Error messages
• Application-specific information, such as Message-IDs in the case of emails, or details regarding the web browser used in the case of web access (User-Agent String) or, if applicable, the page from which the visitor arrived at the website
Among other purposes, we use this information to understand and solve technical problems, to find faults attributable to human error, to defend against attacks against our infrastructure, to facilitate post mortem analyses in the event of hacked customer websites, or to compile visitor statistics for our websites.

The data remains on our systems until the operational necessity for its retention no longer applies or until the expiration of the legally or contractually stipulated time periods, and will then be automatically deleted. For most data this is a maximum of six months.

3.3. Newsletter

We offer the opportunity to subscribe to a newsletter. By providing your data, you grant your corresponding consent to us sending you a newsletter, which we will use to make you aware of suitable offers and additional information. By subscribing to the newsletter, the user grants ITConcepts the right to record, save and analyse all instances of access and all movements on the part of the user.
You grant us your consent to the sending of the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time, thus unsubscribing from the service.

3.4. Competitions

We offer the opportunity to take part in competitions. The data recorded in this instance enables us to contact the winner of the competition. By using the competition forms, the user grants ITConcepts the right to record, save and analyse all instances of access and all movements on the part of the user.
Winners may be published on the corresponding website (stating their name and place of residence). By participating and providing your details, you grant the corresponding consent.

3.5. Marketing purposes

The data that you provide to us by using our services (contact details, access information etc.) may be used for marketing purposes, on the basis of legitimate interests, e.g. in order to be able to communicate with you regarding certain products, marketing promotions or services, in order to recommend products or services that may be of interest to you, or to communicate with you in a customer-friendly manner.
