The continuing shortage of IT specialists in Switzerland is increasingly leading to companies in all sectors being unable to fill vacant IT positions. According to the ICT Vocational Training Association, around 117,900 new ICT specialists will be needed in Switzerland by 2028 alone – according to current forecasts, the training market is far from able to meet this demand. The shortage of specialists affects all IT specialties – software developers, system administrators, web developers and data scientists are desperately sought by companies and can usually choose the company of their choice.

Particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises, the search for qualified IT experts represents a major challenge. Classic IT recruiting approaches – such as publishing job advertisements or searching in well-known professional networks – are unsuitable due to the unfavourable relationship between demand and supply. While large companies are able to secure the best IT talent through attractive career prospects and high salaries, medium-sized companies often search in vain for IT personnel.
